It’s Sunday! Tomorrow I will be starting an intensive 2-week Dutch learning programme. The lessons will be held on Zoom in the evening, but the real work starts today…
The programme will use the ‘flipped classroom’ approach. This method of learning means you need to prepare for the lesson ahead of time. I have actually spent the last week prepping, but now it’s time to do the scheduled homework. Watch the videos, do the online exercises, and study the book.
This means when I attend the evening class tomorrow I will be ready to put the days learning to work by actively speaking Dutch. I will be able to ask the teacher questions on anything I am stuck on. The mixture of online pre-recorded lessons live teaching and ‘Het lesboek’ forms a blended learning approach. As an educator myself, I am a really big fan of this method.
Today I will be focusing on ‘de kennismaking‘ and my learning objectives will be:
- To introduce myself in Dutch.
- To say where I am from, what I do for a living, and how many languages I speak.
- To learn some verbs and know how to conjugate a verb.
- Become familiar with the Dutch word order
- Focus on the pronunciation of ‘a‘ and ‘aa‘
Wish me veel success!
